According to the Associated Press, Senate Democrats now appear ready to let Roland Burris fill President-elect Barack Obama's vacant seat: "After being rejected Tuesday when he tried to join the class of incoming freshmen senators, Burris is finding new support on Capitol Hill among Democratic leaders." If Burris is seated, the US Senate will still be one short: the contested seat in Minnesota, though PollTrack now believes that with Democrat Al Franken's victory now certified by the Minnesota election officials, it is likely that he will wind us as the state's junior senator.
