Powell Endorsement: Only Modestly Helpful To Obama

A just released Gallup poll suggests Colin's Powell's endorsement of Obama for president is only of modest help to the candidate: "While 80% of registered voters are aware of [the endorsement], only 12% of this attentive group say the endorsement makes them more likely to vote for Obama, while 4% say it makes them less likely to vote for him." How such endorsements play out unconsciously in the mind of voters is another story, a factor that even the best polls cannot measure.
